CW: Continued reading, notes, and discussion on Water in the Air.

       2nd and 4th periods turned in Water in the Air 2-column notes. I will collect 3rd period tomorrow.

NOTE: Parents, now that the county has limited our supply funding it is even more important that you're checking blogs and I-Parent for needed information as we don't have the "extra"s to send home (grade reports NOT at progress report time, extra copies of lost handouts/homework, etc.) If you have Internet access but have not established your I-Parent account I would encourage you to do so!

SIDE NOTE: We have run out of Kleenex for my classes of science and social studies.  If you have students with the sniffles who'd rather use a Puffs than a paper towel, please send in a box!

Career Day: In early April we are having an all-day Career Day as part of our LMMS advisement program. We are currently in need to volunteers willing to speak about their careers.  You can come all day (all academic day for 6th grade is from 9:30 until 2:30) or 1/2 day or just for one class period! HW: none. Keep 2-column notes until tomorrow. Which means if they weren't ready for today's class then you got lucky --- have them ready tomorrow!!

CW: Geography packet crossword puzzles.  You completed a peer's crossword as review.

        4-country compare/contrast organizer. You are comparing/contrasting 1. Mexico and Venezuela  2. Brazil and Cuba. Minimum number of 3 items per area of your Venn diagram.

CW: 2nd and 3rd periods: Water Cycle story sharing.

       All: Review of water cycle homework.  If you were keeping up in class you have CORRECT answers for the entire sheet! I checked this off for a completion grade.  If you did not have your homework today remember the worst that can happen is you turn it in tomorrow and don't earn credit. The best is you do get some credit.  You'll never know until you try.

CW: Continued work on geography packets. The packets are due at the end of class tomorrow.  You've been working well, so I don't think there should be any issue completing the packet by then.

SCIENCE

CW: We had a few Water Cycle theater presentations today.

       Water cycle journey/story activity with your table partner.  You should have completed the student worksheet today. We will work on the story about 20 minutes tomorrow. 

        2nd and 3rd periods: Your water cycle stories will be due Monday. 2nd period is a little behind schedule, so we'll discuss the assignment requirements tomorrow. 3rd period remember you voted to  work individually on the stories and have them due Monday.

        4th period: You voted to complete the story as a pair and turn it in after our 20 minutes class time tomorrow.

SOCIAL STUDIES

CW:Begin Latin America/Caribbean Geography packet. Due Friday! You got a great start working on the packets -- remember to ask questions if you're not sure what's expected. I want you do create the crossword -- NOT use one of the online puzzle makers.

HW: none. We'll continue working on the packets in class tomorrow.

SCIENCE

CW: Water Cycle Theater.  We heard some interesting, informative auditions today!  Three groups have to present tomorrow. You also filled out peer evaluations for your group memebers. The evaluations and the notes -- along with a copy of the final script and cast/prop list will be turned in tomorrow.

HW: none. Late groups need to finalize their auditions.

SOCIAL STUDIES

CW: L.A./Caribbean Geography Gallery Walk.  You are did a great job on the gallery walk today. Hopefully you saw some interesting posters and filled up your organizer with notes for each country. Remember I said I want all those squares filled!! Several students didn't have their poster completed for the gallery walk today. This is an assignment that needs to be completed and turned in!

       We practiced our Spanish today with a song of the South American countries/capitals. The bookmark is yours to keep!  Bring it back to class tomorrow when we sing the song again!

SCIENCE

CW: Final preparation day for Water Cycle theater. Download Water Cycle Theater assignment sheetRemember you must turn in a copy of the FINAL script tomorrow before your performance along with one copy of the assignment sheet with your cast list and prop list.  PUT PROPS IN YOUR BOOKBAGS TONIGHT!!! Remember you do not have to dress in costume (although you may...it would certainly add some visual interest to your presentation.) The key thing is always content, content, content!!! We discussed all the particulars today in class so you should know what's expected for tomorrow.  Good luck!  I'm excited to see your auditions.
