Homeroom: Red folders were due today with signed progress report update forms. Please return if you haven't done so already!

SOCIAL STUDIES

CW: Advisement day: Inauguration speeches. We discussed what inauguration means and how speeches are written. Then we tried writing our own!  Great speeches today!

HW: none

SCIENCE

CW: Advisement day: Thanksgiving Day culture/customs. Great discussion on Thanksgiving Day memories and customs.

HW: none. If you have any activities not turned in for Continental Drift, Key Vocabulary, and/or Seafloor Spreading they are considered late. Please complete as soon as possible.

Students have asked about starting the Plate Tectonics activity over the break. I would caution you completing the activity over the break as we have not started any class activities/discussion on the theory of plate tectonics. You are more than welcome to do some research about the theory and the three types of plate boundaries. That should help you complete the Plate Tectonics activity when we return.

HW: All students who have not completed the seafloor spreading stations or seafloor spreading packet notes should try to be here at 8:30 tomorrow morning to finish before the school day begins. I will get you in the 800 commons tomorrow morning to finish.

HOMEROOM: 6TH grade field trip permission forms are due tomorrow.  Red folders from your progress reports are due back by Friday.

CW: Finish Eastern Europe notes and visual timeline. Begin Eastern Europe wrap-up.

HW: none. If your notes and timeline are not complete, please complete for late work.

SCIENCE

CW: Continued work day on Seafloor Spreading stations for the Shaping Our World project. Download sow_0809.doc 2nd period: Seaflooor Spreading packet notes were due at the end of class. 3rd and 4th period: Seafloor Spreading packet notes due at the end of class tomorrow.

Chorus students: Please try to make arrangements to be at school by 8:30 tomorrow morning. I will get you from study hall tomorrow morning when I get to school to keep working on the stations. You will have 30 minutes to work before homeroom.

HOMEROOM: Field trip permission forms are due by Thursday. We need an accurate count of how many students to plan for, so if your form is not turned in by Thursday you will probably not be allowed to go on the trip.

CW: Finish notes on Eastern Europe and begin visual timeline of changes in Eastern Europe. Remember you must have 8 visuals on your timeline.

HW: We will finish timelines tomorrow in class. The notes AND the timelines will be due at the end of class tomorrow.

SCIENCE

CW: Seafloor Spreading stations work day. We continued working on the stations for the Shaping Our World project. We are still trying to move you through the stations as efficiently as possible! Remember you can come to my room in the morning to finish up questions or look at questions again. Your answers must be thorough and related to seafloor spreading!

HW: Chorus members that will be gone on Thursday -- your SFS stations deadline is tomorrow at the end of class. If the situation looks impossible at the end of class we'll make other arrangements. Until then, plan to have all 3 stations completed tomorrow.

HW: You should be done with the notes by tomorrow and starting your visual timelines in class.

SCIENCE

CW: Discuss/begin lab stations for the Seafloor Spreading section of Shaping Our World project. Download sow_0809.doc These stations will be completed in class. Remember if you are going on the chorus trip your deadline for the 3 stations is Wednesday. For all others, the stations deadline is Thursday. If you owe me work for the Key Terms or Continental Drift sections for Shaping Our World please complete and turn in as soon as possible. Late work is accepted for three days only. Today is day one for late work. Remember this is a BIG project for science. You don't want to miss any points for missing deadlines.

HW: none. The Seafloor Spreading homework handout was turned in today in class.
