Science Project

All projects are due on Monday December 1st, no exceptions. If your computer crashes, make a poster(use half of a poster board-14 x 22 inches), write the information by hand, draw pictures or cut pictures out of a magazine.  Another option is to go to the library and use the computer there or go to a friend's house. Do not wait until Sunday night at 10pm to do this project.

Check the last blog for the rubric and other details. You must turn in your rubric with the project!

Newton's Laws Lab Stations-all week

Vocabulary Assignment

     Warm up # 30-Read the caption under the picture on page 148 and answer these questions. 1.Have you ever ridden the Superman Ride? 2. how are the forces acting on the riders similar to an astronaut's training?

Chapter 6 Vocabulary-define the following terms.

   A. write each word and definition

   B. Choose one of the following and complete in class today or for homework

     1-Draw a comic strip or cartoon using at least 12 of the above words. The words and     pictures in each frame must give a clue as to the meaning of the vocabulary word. You must  have at least 8 frames.

  2- Write a story about an amusement park using 12 of the vocabulary words. Use sentence that   will give clues as to the meaning of the vocabulary word. You must have at least 12 sentences. 

   3-Create a children’s book teaching a child the meaning of the words. Use at least 12 words, include drawings or pictures, at least 8 pages in the book.

Warmups #21-29 due

Today, the tests were given back and reviewed. We also had warmup #29 which we interpretting a graph. I will give a handout to you if you were absent. We will do warmup #30 tomorrow and I will collect # 21-30. All grades should  be up to date in I-Parent, please check. We are also collecting canned goods for the Food Bank. Such as peanut butter, soup, canned vegetables, canned potatoes, canned tuna

Ch. 5 Test

The test was given on Friday. Be prepared to take the test on Monday during class. If you would prefer to take it Monday morning, print this as a pass. 11/10/08 Room 824, 8:30am Mrs. Guillory

Ch. 5 Test and Study Session

The test is tomorrow, 11/7. How to study for this test:

1- gather together warmups, handouts, Ch. 5 review and textbook

2- Take one sheet at a time, cover the answers and try to answer the questions correctly

3-if you can't answer the question correctly, repeat the answer over and over until you think you have memorized it

4- if you don't understand a questions, read that section in the textbook, look at the pictures, read the captions of the pictures, go to the textbook online and click on the eactivities  and look at the visual concepts for the topic, ask a parent

5-Go to each Section Review and answer the questions, you can check your answers by using the handouts. Many of the questions are identical.

6-Answer the questions on the chapter review and see if you get them correct. You have the answers from today's class

7-You can come in at 8:15 for help. Print this as a pass. 8:15am Friday 11/7
