Also,groups will have one class period in the computer lab to come up with a presentation to share in class Thursday related to the issue of voting in the U.S. (use entry #6 in your notebook to assist you with this assignment). Questions that should be answered in the presentation include:

6th Grade: homework is to get a parent signature on the test that I returned in class today. Again, overall I'm very pleased with the results and its obvious several of you took the time to study!

6th Grade Homework: watch Georgia beat LSU! The test results look awesome!!! I hope to have the grades in pinnacle by Sunday night. I'm proud of you for studying and doing well on the test. We will start a new unit on Monday.

8th Grade Homework: watch Georgia beat LSU. I had students participate in a quick student/teacher conference in class today. We will continue our Survivor game Monday. Also, I will have you recite the preamble to the Constitution at the end of next week...I'm sure several students can do this now. Thursday 12-1-11

6th Grade Homework for Thursday 12-1-11: Make sure you review the work in your folder and pay particular attention to pages 163 -172 in your CRCT prep book. You will have a major test this Friday! Study!!!

In a test format, you should be able to explain each of the elements listed below:

6th grade standards currently being studied: SS6H7

The student will explain conflict and change in Europe to the 21st century.

Element: SS6H7.a

Describe major developments following World War I: the Russian Revolution, the Treaty of Versailles, worldwide depression, and the rise of Nazism.

Element: SS6H7.b

Explain the impact of WWII in terms of the Holocaust, the origins of the Cold War, and the rise of Superpowers.

Element: SS6H7.c

Explain how the collapse of the Soviet Union led to the end of the Cold War and German reunification.

 

8th Grade Homework for Thursday 12-1-11: Finish the front and back of entry #6. I will have each group give a brief presentation tomorrow in class related to the issue of voting in the United States. If you do an excellent job completing the homework it will make for an easier presentation tomorrow in class. Please, continue to check the Survivor scores posted in the hallway. The winning team from each class will have a pizza party (Domino's) at the end of next week during lunch!
